Art on the Walls Exhibit

Boulder County Arts Alliance offers a unique opportunity for two-dimensional artists to exhibit their work for a one-month period in the Barnes & Noble Cafe in Boulder (2915 Pearl St.) Click here for upcoming exhibit schedule. 

The next application deadline is Monday, March 17, 2008, at 5 p.m. for July through December 2008 exhibits.

Barnes & Noble will host dessert reception for each artist on the first Tuesday evening of the month of their exhibit from 5:30-7:00 pm. BCAA will issue calendar releases to the local news media, BCAA members, and list the exhibit dates along with artist's statement and picture of the art on the BCAA website. BCAA also produces a postcard featuring 6 month's worth of artists and their work. Each artist receives 100 postage-paid postcards to mail to their friends, family, and patrons.

This opportunity is available to artists residing or working in Boulder County. All applicants must be current BCAA members. Application deadlines are March 15 for July-December exhibits and September 15 for January-June exhibits each year. In the event these dates fall on a Saturday, Sunday or holiday, the deadline will be on the following business day.  Please refer to the most recent grant application for specifics regarding the application process and requirements. Highlights of the process include:

• BCAA member applicants need to complete the Art on the Walls application.
• Selection of the artists and the work is the responsibility of representatives from both BCAA and Barnes & Noble who jury the submissions twice annually. 
• The artist will keep 75% of the exhibit period's gross sales of artwork, cards, prints, etc. and give a 25% commission of the exhibit's gross sales to BCAA.
• The artist assumes all responsibility for insuring work during the exhibit period. Neither BCAA nor the intended venue will assume any liability for the artist or the work.
