All the Best Places
Crashing waves reflecting the sky, fields filled with color, and buildings reflecting the warm glow, are subjects that inspire me to paint. The paintings in this exhibit are a collection of landscapes representing some of my favorite places. Using light and color, the landscapes are painted to capture the feeling of the atmosphere and moment in time. It is these landscapes of color that I wish to share with the viewer.

The process of painting is something I greatly enjoy. The unpredictable nature of water color paints as they are laid down on the paper and the bright, clear array of colors are what make this medium exciting. Most of my subjects explore an element of life, weather it is a still life, street scene of landscape. I really like the exciting challenge of using light, movement, and balance to create a strong composition. As well, strong use of color is an essential element in all my subject matter, to create the mood and enhance the visual experience.

While painting plein air, I strive to capture not only the scene in front of me, but the atmosphere of teh day, the smells, and the sounds. I take this feeling with me while working in my studio to recreate a quality image that I can share with others.

I was formally trained at the Art Institute of Boston, receiving a certificate of completion, and at the Massachusetts College of Art, receiving a BFA. I am an award winning signature member of the Colorado Watercolor Society. I have been commissioned by several Hospitals to paint murals and original watercolors to enhance the atmosphere for the patients, and also have paintings in several private collections, as well as paintings in local restaurants and spas.
