Through revival, preservation and historically authentic presentation of early and baroque choral music, Seicento Baroque Ensemble seeks to inspire, entertain and educate concert audiences, performers and others, preserve an important musical heritage, and foster music appreciation by people of all ages. Over centuries, the works of many gifted composers of the early baroque era fell into undeserved obscurity despite their crucial formative influence on the work of J.S. Bach, G.F. Handel and later composers. SBE returns this music to the eyes and ears of performers and concertgoers, expanding the sacred and secular musical repertoire available to the public. Seicento Baroque Ensemble seeks to inspire and educate through familiar and lesser-known early music that is performed at the highest artistic level, using historical performance practice and period instruments, and providing unforgettable choral experiences for both performers and audiences.
