NCAR Gallery Features "Magic Realism" Paintings by Roger Mordhorst

An exhibition of paintings in oil and watercolor titled “Magic Realism,” by Roger Mordhorst are on display in Gallery II of the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) July 26 – September 25. The artist creates impressionistic portraits in oil that capture the subject’s likeness while also reflecting an idiosyncratic aspect of the individual’s character. His recent work focuses on surrealism where realistic images are juxtaposed in surreal contexts to create a paradoxical experience for viewers. The artist is passionate about painting and about mastering the ability to depict the human form. The public is invited to the opening reception on Sunday, August 8th, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the NCAR gallery.
