The Renaissance Project invites you to join us for our final concert of the season- an exquisite and introspective program From Darkness Comes Light.
The Renaissance Project performs two concerts this spring, one in Lafayette on April 29, and the second in Boulder on April 30.
From Darkness Comes Light explores musical musings of both shadow and illumination found in a wide range of music from the middle ages to the present. Repertoire will span the darkness and hope found in the compositions of two cloistered nuns, Hildegard von Bingen and the lesser-known Vittoria Aleotti, along with a melancholic set of regretz by Josquin and Brumel, and even some lightness found through the playful motet settings of Vautor and Clément. The compositions of living composers Will Nichols and Abbie Betinis will round out the program.
We hope you’ll join us for a moment of reflection and celebration of both darkness and light, enjoying the unique setting of The Renaissance Project.
