Description: Join artist and teacher April Christenson to explore the many options and techniques that watercolor pencils offer.  We will also use colored pencils for details and texture.  Watercolor pencils are easier to control and make great tools for sketching in the field.  Each week we will have different fall subjects like leaves, gourds, pumpkins.  You will get tips and techniques to draw each of the different fall subjects.  You will get different techniques for blending the watercolor pencils with colored pencils for a beautiful result.  The teacher will provide fall photo references and handouts you can take home. This class is a great way to expand your horizons and add these techniques to your art skills. You can be a beginner or experienced artist to enjoy this class!  

Supplies: Purchase a watercolor pad of paper preferably "hot press" if you like smooth paper or "cold press" watercolor pad if you like rough paper.  Also needed: #2 pencil, couple skinny permanent black marker, something to hold water, a small watercolor brush and a medium size watercolor brush  Also purchased a set of 12 or more watercolor pencils.  I recommend Faber Castell Albrecht Durer Watercolor pencils or Stadtler Watercolor Pencils.  Also bring a set of 12 or 24 colored pencils, I reccommend Prismacolor colored pencils.
