We are casting for Sandy! Looking for dogs who are relaxed, laid back, good with people and enjoy attention.
Sandy is described in the script as medium-sized, sandy-colored mutt of an indistinguishable breed.
Size and breed are flexible, but we are looking for a dog who could be described as sandy-colored and is a bit scruffy looking.
Dogs auditioning for Sandy should be obedient and calm in louder environments. They are featured onstage a couple of times for a longer period. They must be able to run onstage to their Annie on command and run offstage to their handler on command. They should be comfortable on leash and off. They must be comfortable around loud noises, children, and other dogs. - Handlers must be 16 yrs +.
Experience is NOT required. Some form of stage experience would be a huge bonus. Even the most confident of dogs can suddenly be affected by the lights, the band and the huge round of applause they are bound to receive on their big entrance!
We will most likely cast TWO Sandy's. Each performing in 4 shows. This production runs Nov 20 - Dec 5 | Fri @ 7pm, Sat @ 6pm, Sun @ 1pm. Handlers must be available to accompany their dog at all called rehearsals and performances.
COMPENSATION | $100 rehearsal stipend + $25 per show - OR - VOLUNTEER + 6 Comp Tickets
