Theatre Company of Lafayette (TCL) present the world premiere of Postville, an award-winning play by local playwright, Don Fried.

When a group of Hassidic Jews from Brooklyn come to a struggling Midwest town to re-open the defunct meat-packing plant as a kosher facility, the locals think their problems are over.  But an epic culture clash ensues that transforms the American melting pot into a pressure cooker that explodes.  Literally!

Postville is a very funny play about serious contemporary issues.  The work was one of the selections of the 2009 Playwrights’ Showcase of the Western Region, a competition for writers from all states west of the Mississippi River.

To read a synopsis of the play, see Don’s website, www.donfriedwriter.com/the-plays/.
