Using original photography and digital processes to create mixed media fiber constructions, I explore my relationship to the earth, to nature, to the purpose of being. In this exhibit I hope to communicate some of the awesome beauty I find in nature and to inspire others in their search.
Carol is passionate about fiberart. She creates mixed media work using her original photographic images, digitally adjusted and printed on fabric. Often she incorporates hand-dyed and painted fabric as well as other porcesses. The carefully layered imagery is further enhanced with free motion stitching. In, "Thread Paintings," Carold creates photo-realistic images using dozens of colors of thread to cover the entire surface of the canvas.
While Carol finds inspiration everywhere, she is ddply and powerfully influenced by the natural beauty surrounding her on hiking trails close to home and in the Rocky Mountains.
Carol is a full time studio artist and teacher. For over 30 years she was a social worker and phychotherapist focused on healing and strengthening hte body-mind-spirit connection. this background continues to inspire her artwork and teaching.
