BCAA Endowment Fellowship Guidelines

Purpose:

BCAA Endowment Fellowships are anual unrestricted cash awards designed to recognize established artists’ professional achievement through an accumulated body of work in the designated discipline.

Fellowships are awarded in 6 disciplines on a rotating schedule - 2 disciplines each year, to be repeated every 3rd year. The following is the schedule for the next 3 years:

  • 2022 - Media and Theatre
  • 2023 - Dance and Visual Art
  • 2024 - Music and Literature

    Important Dates:

    Application deadline - Applications must be submitted online by 5:00pm on the application deadline date. The form will be taken offline at 5:01pm and will not be available for edits or submission.

    Requirements for Consideration:

    All fellowship applicants must be current members of the Boulder County Arts Alliance. If you are not a current member of BCAA or your membership has expired, please visit our membership page for a membership form or to join/renew online. Additionally, applicants must be at least 18 years old and have at least three years of continuous residence in Boulder County prior to submission of this application.

    Exclusions:

    Applicants may not receive a Fellowship in two consecutive rounds of a discipline.

    Evaluation Criteria:

    Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate artistically excellent work that has benefited or may benefit the Boulder County community. All applications will be reviewed by a multi-disciplinary panel. Your application should clearly and specifically address the following criteria :

    • Artistic excellence of an accumulated body of work in a discipline
    • Evidence of artistic achievement as recognized by the arts community and the Boulder community in general
    • Impact of fellowship on the artist's career

    Application Process:

    A completed application consists of the following:

    • Completed BCAA Endowment Fellowship Application Narrative
    • Resume, C.V., or profile of the applicant, not to exceed three pages.
    • Signed letters of recommendation: 2 letters minimum, 3 letters maximum.
    • Support Material. This should include press reviews that support the application. For writing disciplines include a sample of your writing.
    • Audio Visual Material. This may include links to websites where audio or visual material or still images can be accessed. Applicants should be sure that examples are of high quality.
