The Lafayette Cultural Arts Commission and Motus Theater presents an exploration of Boulder County History through a special film event.  The film Rocks Karma Arrows, lunch, and discussion will be presented.  Participants need to pre-register by emailing motuscommunity@gmail.com or call 303-440-3682.

Rocks Karma Arrows (RKA) is Motus Theater’s award winning, contemporary theater piece on film, which looks at Boulder County history through the lens race and socioeconomic inequality. The critically acclaimed production begins with the tragic relationship between the Arapaho Peace Chief Niwot and the settlers who flocked to this territory when gold was discovered. The film reveals a series of decisions and actions over the next 100 years that have cast their shadow over continuing efforts to wrestle with inequality today. Hear our real history from the voices of Native Peoples, settlers, Sand Creek Massacre witnesses, miners, CU's Japanese school teachers, KKK, and more. Listen to Chief Niwot and other leaders' words that we need to know to build our future. Discuss your thoughts with community members and strengthen our town and county.

The half day event will begin at 10:15 with light refreshments.  Act 1 or Rocks Karma Arrows will begin at 10:30am, followed by lunch and discussion at 11:45.  Lunch is free to the first 75 registrants.  Rocks Karma Arrows Act 2 will begin at 12:45, followed by dessert and more discussion.
