  have always been instrumental in envisioning new 
 futures and creative solutions. Engaging in the po
 licymaking process at a local\, state and/or feder
 al level is an important way to make systemic and 
 sustainable change. Together\, we can advocate for
  arts\, culture and creative industries to support
  our community well-being\, economic vitality and 
 overall quality of life. There have been some exci
 ting recent developments in Colorado to align prio
 rities and build momentum at the state legislature
 . This workshop will provide an overview of that p
 rogress and Colorado’s Arts Policy Framework\, an 
 intentional and inclusive advocacy voice and roadm
 ap for Colorado’s arts & culture sector. We will a
 lso provide a summary of the recently completed 20
 26 legislative session\, including a bill to form 
 a new type of business entity just for artists. Th
 e conversation will be led by Meredith Badler\, De
 puty Director at Colorado Business Committee for t
 he Arts (CBCA). As a 501c3 nonprofit\, CBCA advanc
 es Colorado’s creative economy by connecting arts 
 and business. Since 2020\, CBCA has filled the rol
 e as our state arts advocacy organization and led 
 a variety of lobbying and capacity-building initia
 tives\, including administering the Colorado Art A

 for the Arts (CBCA). Meredith oversees all of CBCA
 ’s programs\, major events\, research and training
 s. Meredith also stewards CBCA’s grassroots and di
 rect advocacy for Colorado’s arts\, culture and cr
 eative industries.  Prior to CBCA\, Meredith worke
 d as a strategy consultant for the nonprofit secto
 r at Corona Insights and in patron services for Cu
 rious Theatre Company. Meredith serves on the Boar
 d for Art Students League of Denver and the leader
 ship team for the national Creative States Coaliti
 on. She has a background in theatre and improv com
 edy. She was recognized as a 40 Under 40 by Denver
  Business Journal in 2025.</p></body></html>
