How to Take Better Pictures to Promote Your Events

Registration is closed for this event
You know a picture is worth a thousand words, but when it comes time to promote your gala event, exhibition, or performance, do you have the images that will get the public's attention? Professional photographer Rocio De Prado offers you a crash course in the theory of photography composition, rules of angles and lights, and an exercise to practice. We'll get a lesson and then walk around Lafayette's Fall Festival to try out what we learned.

Born and raised in México City, Rocio De Prado is passionate about supporting education, culture and the arts by showing the different faces of the community and nature around us. She gets to share these values in her work as a professional photographer and as a consultant for Americas for Conservation + the Arts.

Her photographs are candid and clean, and she likes to play with colors and techniques to accentuate the beauty already present in them. She will share with you her tips for capturing special moments.

Bring a digital camera if you have one. If not, your smartphone if fine. Wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather as we will be outside.
