Seeming to possess boundless energy, the husband and wife duo of Jose Beteta and Tamil Maldonado are engaged in numerous cultural and community pursuits. Jose is the Executive Director of the Latino Chamber of Commerce of Boulder County, Tamil is the CEO at Barrio E', and together they are the Founders of of RaĆces Brewing Company, a craft brewery in Denver which seeks to connect and identify with Latino millennials. They are also the founders of the Colorado Latino Festival. The Festival started in 2016 in Longmont and moved to Denver last year. This year it will take place in Boulder, with activities beginning on June 18 and culminating with the main event on Sunday, June 24 in Boulder's Civic Area, Central Park, between Canyon Boulevard & Arapahoe Avenue and between Broadway Avenue and 14th Street from 11am - 7pm. Want to participate? The Festival is looking for Latin music & dance performers, both traditional & popular music. Latino can mean music from any Latin American, Caribbean country and the U.S. Genres include Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, Cumbia, Bomba, Plena, Spanish Rock, Latin Pop, Tex-Mex, Banda, Reggae, Soca, Latin Ska, Mariachi, Vallenato, etc. They are also seeking Latin artisans and visual artists.
