Rebecca is a nationally touring singer songwriter, a published poet and an oil painter. She is also a vocal coach facilitating Vocal Freedom and Vocal Mastery and loves to help others liberate their authentic voices. Westword Magazine says of her music, "Her songs hit like little earthquakes!". In her songs, she shares stories from her own life and others' lives, bringing to light the vulnerability and wisdom that we all share. Her words point like a compass into our deepest emotions, inviting us to find the courage to face our fears, embrace our dreams and choose to live our best life with loving-kindness as our guide. Her current project is Sanctuary, inspired to help humanity awake from the trance of separation, and move into the unifying power of both love and positive solution. Sanctuary is fourfold: Open Your Voice workshops offered to under voiced peoples in collaboration with effective non-profit organizations, Co-writing and Collaborating with people from these communities and with award winning professionals, Creating a sonically exquisite 12 song album with a full national promotional campaign, getting the music to the highest music platforms and to listeners throughout the world, and presenting Sanctuary live performances inviting under voiced communities to be part of songs in each performance. Currently with BCAA as a Fiscal Sponsor the Sanctuary Project has raised over $100,000.00. Rebecca is now offering the From Strings to Wings program. Co-sponsored with Yamaha guitars, she is offering artists of all levels an opportunity to repurpose dented or imperfect guitars into art projects. You can contact her at info@rebeccafolsom.com to receive a guitar and to create into your own artistic vision. We are asking for ideas around the theme of Sanctuary. She is open to a wide spectrum of artistic ideas, so really most anything goes! The repurposed instruments will be auctioned in February and Artists will receive 20% of the auctioned sale. The Sanctuary project and BCAA will be the other beneficiaries |
