A wonderful way to enjoy Boulder's incredible sunsets, in one of Downtown Boulder's iconic open spaces!

In partnership with the City of Boulder and Arts in the Park, Mara Driscoll, is producing a fantastic series of outdoor events bringing joy, music, dance and live performances to the Bandshell.

Each event brings a variety of local artists that will delight audiences with thirty dynamic acts! You can check their line up here.

All performances run from 7pm-8:30pm - doors and concessions open at 6:00pm.

At the Tuesday, Aug 3 city council meeting, the following ballot measure will be considered for the November election. 

 CALL TO ACTION STEPS: 

Communicate the following suggested points to City Council:

1)   We support the extension of the .3% tax, but the naming should remain as the Community, Culture, & Safety Tax so that arts and culture remain at the forefront of/are prioritized in future investment decisions.

2)   We support 20% of the budget allocated to arts and cultural organizations to fund large scale investments as well as smaller projects. The entire arts and culture community would help convince voters to approve the tax.

3)   We would suggest that funds be made available to support arts and cultural facility expansion  efforts currently underway as well as to identify and advance to the 'shovel ready phase' inspirational and community-wide projects for the future.

4)   The City's Cultural Plan is due to be refreshed in 2022. Further investment in the arts should be informed by this rigorous analysis of the arts landscape and community aspirations. Undoubtedly, this planning process will identify venue and facility needs fundamental to the community's interest.

2)   Call a council member if you have a personal relationship with them to discuss your concerns and ideas.

3)   Sign up to speak at the public forum on Tuesday evening, August 3. Register to speak here.

The BCAA Endowment Grant is now open and receiving applications for equipment purchase, projects and unrestricted fellowships in music and literature. 

Next Application deadline is Thursday September 9, 2021 at 5 pm.

Thanks to the generous support of the Community Foundation Boulder County, Boulder County Arts Alliance is offering grants up to $5000 to provide financial relief in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. Awards will be made to individual artists and arts organizations that have experienced unforeseen hardships during and in the post-COVID-19 environment. More details can be found here.

BCAA is seeking people experienced with grants, awareness and understanding of DEAI issues, to become part of our group of panelists for the Endowment Grant.

Are you a BIPOC artist interested in Antiracism Action in the arts? 

Boulder County Arts Alliance (BCAA) together with the CU Boulder Office for Outreach and Engagement (OOE) and representatives from BCAA, Dairy Arts Center, BMoCA, Boulder Potters Guild and Bridge Studio, JCC, KGNU, Longmont Museum, and the OOE meet regularly to discuss changes we are implementing within our own organizations, and have developed some workshops to share our process and dialogue with others.

At our last workshop, DEI Dialogues in the Arts: Programming, facilitated by Aaron Clark of Equity Solutions, the idea of developing an artist directory  specifically for BIPOC artists in Boulder County surfaced in conversation among participants (who were both BIPOC and White).
