BYOV - BRING YOUR OWN VENUE
For Boulder Arts Week and International Fringe Festival
Tuesday, January 27 from 5:30 - 7 pm
Boulder Chamber, 2440 Pearl St, Boulder
Find, create and secure venues for Boulder Arts Week (March 27 - April 4) and Boulder International Fringe Festival (September 16 - 27) in 2015! Please come prepared to talk about your work and find new ways of presenting it.

Emily K. Harrison, Project Manager of Boulder Arts Week and founding Artistic Director of square product theatre and Alexis Cooley, Executive Producer of the Boulder International Fringe Festival, will present.

Suggested Donation $5.

Wine/drinks/snacks will be provided. Register here.

Some of last year's more memorable arts experiences were in unexpected locations: grocery and hardware stores, restaurants, vacant office space, and even a taxi. Given the scale of Boulder's arts community, the major limiting factor for Boulder Arts Week 2015 is space!

Please consider opening your doors during Boulder Arts Week to the artists who make Boulder vibrant and exciting! If you have a space to offer, come to this meeting and/or email Deborah Malden at the Boulder Chamber.

COMMUNITY ARTS FUND
Make a Contribution/Be a Recipient in 2015

The Community Arts Fund is a vehicle for donors to provide funding directly to art projects in Boulder County, particularly those that speak to BCAA's core values: "inclusive, edgy, and accessible."

In 2013, the Community Arts Fund totaled $500 and went to Boulder Opera Company to offer educational workshops to schools in Boulder, in particular to schools that have large percentages of low income populations. They presented "Intro to Opera" workshops at no cost to the schools, and local artists participated in the presentations.

Donations were low for 2014, and we need to raise at least $400 before we have enough for another recipient. Please help us spread the word!

Once the fund reaches $500, a Request For Proposals (RFP) will be advertised to the BCAA email list (subscribe here) and posted to the BCAA website homepage. The proposal deadline will be three weeks from the initial posting of the RFP, and a panel will determine the winning submission within a week of the proposal deadline. Proposals will only be accepted electronically in the form provided on the BCAA website.

Please read the guidelines or contact the BCAA office if you have any questions.

BCAA AND THE BOLDER BOULDER

BCAA looking to partner to supply entertainment for 2015 event
Memorial Day - Monday, May 25

Indicate your level of interest with this form.

As you probably know, this 10K race happens each Memorial Day. Runners World Magazine calls it America's All-Time Best 10K, with 50,000 runners and tens of thousands more fans along the course. With such a large audience, BCAA sees an incredible opportunity to bring attention to the arts and showcase our talented Boulder County artists.

We have started talking with the Bolder Boulder team and are looking for initial interest from YOU, our members.  Is your musical group/dance group interested in performing along the course?  Are you a visual artist with an idea for an installation along the course?  Compensation for performers is available, and we are looking into opportunities for funding visual art projects.

If BCAA is able to have a booth at their Sports Expo the Saturday and Sunday before the run, would you or your group be interested in having a banner and/or other publicity material there?  Would you be available to take a shift staffing the booth?

Would your organization like to run the Bolder Boulder as a group and use it as a fundraising and/or publicity opportunity?  You might encourage your members to dress in costume or do something to identify your group.  We saw the Fringe Festival do this last year.

Do you live along the course?  Would you be willing to put a temporary art installation in your front lawn?  Or a banner? Or have a live performance in your yard?

Share your ideas and level of interest on this form.  This month, we will be driving the course with the Bolder Boulder team to identify possibilities and brainstorm.  We need to hear from you by February 20, 2015 to move forward.  We hope you are as excited about the possibilities as we are!

Hoi Polloi ˌhȯi-puh-ˈlȯi noun plural:Greek, the many, masses, riff raff, rabble, ordinary people, the general populace, the great unwashed, commoners…

We value the HOI POLLOI, the Masses, and the diversity that they bring to our community, and we welcome everyone into our studio, whether it’s through monthly membership, drop-in studio sessions, classes, individual lessons or simply a need to have something fired.

We make it our mission to offer an affordable, open, artistic environment that fuels a desire for self expression through ceramic art.

It’s that simple.

We want to serve not only those who already love the creative process of making ceramic art, but also those who are not yet aware of their own creative possibilities.

Please check out our website for information on membership, drop-in sessions, open studio hours and upcoming classes.

We embrace art, artists & the Creative struggle.
