This monument is a pillar with 4 markers that represent the heights of the 50 year flood (a flood with 1 in 50 chance of occuring in a year), the 100 year flood ( a flood with a 1 in 100 chance of occuring in a year), the 500 year flood (a flood with a 1 in 500 chance of occuring in a year) and the height of the Big Thompson Flood that occured in 1976.
