Salvador Dalí (1904 – 1989) & Pablo Picasso (1881- 1973) are two of the most well-known artists in all of 20th century art. For both, aspects of their personal lives and outsized personalities sometimes overshadowed their large creative output. Both were master draftsmen, creative pioneers in many artistic movements throughout the 20th century and moved freely between many mediums. This exhibition will feature the intimate drawings, prints and sketches of both Dalí and Picasso from the collection of Dr. Wayne F. Yakes. Among the highlights, the exhibition will showcase Dalí’s rendering of Dante’s Divine Comedy with 100 prints made from his exquisite watercolors. Dalí & Picasso will open at the Fort Collins Museum of Art on Friday, November 3, and continue through Sunday, January 7, 2018.
