A Parody/Revue of the Music of the 60’s and 70’s

By Deborah Montgomery

Lyrics Adapted by Bill Paddock & Deborah Montgomery

Directed by Lorraine Scott

Musical Direction by Trent Hines

Music Arrangement by Eric Weinstein

June 17 – July 15, 2017

What happens when one hasn’t planned very well for retirement? The fading yet formerly hit 60’s and 70’s rock and roll group of Willy Withers, Tina Tumor, and Rickie D. Bones are finding out. These aging rockers, forced to sing for their supper by taking any gigs they can, notice more each day how hard it is to “keep on keepin’ on.” The group forges a new bond as they give the songs of their youth fresh meaning--singing about such aging maladies as weight gain, memory loss, and gastric issues (think about having that first colonoscopy performed to the chorus, “Snake it up doctor, if you twist I’ll shout!”). Together these Boomers learn that while aging “ain’t for sissies,” they’re more than ready, with the help of their beloved rock and roll, to face and to celebrate all the challenges that growing older brings.

The cast includes Deborah Montgomery (Rickie), Shelley McMillion (Tina) and Jay Louden (Willy) with backup by the Emotionett’s Rachel Findley (Perry), Tracey Sanderson (Taylor) and Steven Hartman (Jonas).
