Music from Scrap is a performance and installation project from composer-performer-artists Abby Kellems, Gavin Kitchen, and Jessie Lausé that enlivens recycling education through music-making. An exhibition in the Canyon Gallery at the Boulder Public Library featuring playable musical instruments and graphic scores created using found, recycled, and repurposed materials will be open from February 7, 2026 - April 3, 2026.

The exhibition will open with a concert on February 7, 2026 at 2:00pm in the Canyon Theater at the Boulder Public Library. The concert will feature performances of original music written for instruments built using recycled materials, as well as Lex Shannon, Public Education and Engagement Senior Manager at Ecocycle. The performance will be followed by a reception in the Canyon Gallery, where community members will be invited to play the instruments and make music of their own!
