October pARTiculars Featured Artists; Jeff Becker and Jeanne Hougen

A reception for both Jeff and Jeanne will be held on Friday, October 9, 4:30-6:30 at pARTiculars Art Gallery and Teaching Studio in Old Town Lafayette. Refreshments provided.

Jeff Becker, Book Arts
Jeff began making journals in 1998, and has since honed his craft, going on to create many types of handmade books. Fond of the natural materials, Jeff is also fascinated by how book binding serves as an introduction to the content, the structure and movement, the anticipation of the turning page, and the following surprise or resolution. You can take a workshop with Jeff at pARTicuars Art Gallery where you will learn to make your own handmade journal.

Jeanne Hougen, Oil Painter
Jeanne loves oil painting in all its genres but never feels more at home than when she is painting the crisp Colorado atmosphere as it bathes its warm sunlight over mountains, trees, wildflowers and fields. Her artististic style is representational, with an impressionistic flair, capturing light and its unique effect on color in everyday scenes.
