Did you know that there are opportunities in the Boulder-Denver Metro Area to work as an Artist’s Model? Artists regularly employ models of all body colors, genders, ages, shapes and sizes for portraits and for nude, draped, costumed & clothed figure modeling. This workshop is an introduction to Fine Arts Modeling.
Presenter, Ellen Allen, a Boulder artist and Founder of Art of Modeling, will cover terminology, types of modeling, what kind of venues and artists to expect, types of poses, sets & props, how to prepare beforehand, what to bring, etiquette for models & artists, pro tips and more. Also included will be a mini modeling demonstration by a seasoned professional figure model, the opportunity to try clothed posing out for yourself, and time for questions. Take home supplementary handouts and a free gift for your future model bag. Upon completion you will be well-informed and prepared to begin fine arts modeling.
Must be age 18 to attend.
Note: This workshop is a repeat of the one offered in April of this year.
Pre-Registration is required. You are welcome to bring a bag lunch. Snacks will be provided.
Filling a gap in our thriving arts community, Art of Modeling provides:
- Fine arts model booking services
- Quarterly fine arts model training workshops
- Quarterly figure drawing marathons
- Bi-annual art gallery exhibitions/sales opportunities
- An unofficial association of fine arts models in the Boulder/Denver Area
Art of Modeling was founded in January 2019 by Ellen Allen, an award-winning artist with a formal arts training from Pratt Institute in NY, NY. Ellen was a sought after professional fine arts model in the San Francisco Bay/Central Coast area whose experiences in both the roles of an artist and of a fine arts model lend her a unique perspective from which to serve and to set an example of best practices in fine arts model training.
