Ana Balzán

Ana Balzán was born and raised in Venezuela, surrounded by a creative family that nurtured her early interest in the arts. She is a self-taught ceramic sculptor and acrylic painter based in Longmont, Colorado. With a background in graphic design, Ana transitioned into fine arts, building a practice centered on figurative sculpture and expressive surface work. Her slab-built ceramic sculptures explore themes of resilience, identity, cultural memory, and human connection, often drawing from her personal experiences as a woman, mother, and caregiver.

Deeply inspired by nature, Ana’s work reflects the quiet strength and vulnerability found in both the human figure and the natural world. Her artistic process emphasizes thoughtful craftsmanship, texture, and emotional presence.

Ana has exhibited her work in group and solo exhibitions and is an active member of the local arts community. In 2024, she was honored as Artist of the Year by the Firehouse Art Center in Longmont. She also finds great fulfillment in teaching ceramics, empowering students to explore their own creative paths through clay.
