Installed in 1997, A tile mosaic mural reflection the historical roots of Lafayette, depicting Mary Miller, the founder and coal miners from the Simpson Mine, made possible by a fundraising drive spearheaded by arts advocate Jean Mellblom

How it was commissioned, gifted, or grant: Commissioned by the Lafayette Public Art Committee as part of the newly constructed of the Lafayette Public Library
