THE ART OF PREGNANCY

THURSDAYS 2/5/2015

COST $240 + $10 MATERIAL FEE FOR SIX WEEKS

*10% off pre-registration discount If registered by January 29th

This six-week workshop, held at the Boulder art therapy collective, is designed to honor and nurture the journey of pregnancy and becoming a mother. Pregnancy is a time of reflection, contemplation and connectedness, and at times can also be very isolating, scary and vulnerable. Being around other pregnant women who are going through the same thing can provide solace and comfort, as we allow each other space to reflect on this life changing experience. Join us as we come together to support each other through this creative and special time, to share our stories and create meaningful art together. By Slowing down and acknowledging the experience of growing a human being inside one's body, we can fully appreciate the joys and the pains of pregnancy and beyond. Each group will start with snacks and a check in, and a weekly art project will be offered. Projects will include: journaling and creative writing, needle felting, mobile making and gift making for the baby, painting for relaxation, and much more. Topics will include facing your fears, body image, creating a support network, self-care, relaxation and breathing techniques, and preparation for birth. Group is led by Nina Hausfeld, mother and artist and Katie Hanczaryk, licensed practicing counselor, and soon to be mother. Both co-facilitators are certified art therapists, and have years of experience using art as therapy.
