Description

City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks Department Call for Art 2015

This summer, the City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks Department (OSMP) will be hosting an art show, Art Inspired by the Land, at the Boulder Public Library's Canyon Gallery. This show will celebrate art created by the community, inspired by the lands that surround Boulder. The main theme of the show will be Art Inspired by the Land, but we encourage pieces about “Healing After Fire and Flood,” as these will be highlighted in a section of the gallery.

One of the requirements of the art submitted is that it must be inspired from the City of Boulder OSMP lands. Unfortunately we cannot accept pieces that are from other areas in Colorado.  Below you can find the OSMP maps.

The art should be display ready, and can include photography, painting, drawing, pastel, sculpture, textile, and short written pieces and poetry. Each person is allowed to submit up to three pieces for consideration. Artists can be of any age and level (amateur to professional). Submissions will be considered based on quality, location, and type of media, in relation to other selected pieces.

To submit your work, please fill out the form below and email it to Juanita Echeverri:

 OSMPandtheArts@bouldercolorado.gov

Be sure to attach electronic pictures of your piece(s) and submit one art piece per email. If you want to submit more than one piece, then you need to send them in separate emails.

The deadline for submission is Friday, June 5, 2015. Early entries are encouraged. Please contact Juanita Echeverri if you have any questions, at 303-413-7616.

Selected art work will need to be dropped off at the Boulder Public Library Canyon Gallery on July 6, and picked up at the library on Thursday, August 27. If you can't personally pick up your artwork, you are required to find a person that can pick it up for you. Open Space and Mountain Parks can't store artwork after the deadline.
