Students, faculty, staff, and members of the community will gather to explore the interfaces of technology, composition, and inclusion for the 6th Annual Undergraduate Diversity Conference on the theme Connect!, sponsored by CU’s Program for Writing and Rhetoric (PWR).

The conference has become a signature CU event to promote dialogue on diversity issues, to enhance openness and respect on campus, and to showcase PWR student writings and multimedia projects on diversity-related topics. Between 150-200 people are expected to attend this year’s conference.

This year’s conference features two interactive multimedia sessions conducted by Daniel Weinshenker, Rocky Mountain Regional Director of the Center for Digital Storytelling.

In response to the conference theme, Connect!, students will showcase their multimedia presentations on diversity issues ranging from the local to the international. The event includes breakfast and lunch.

The conference is organized by the Diversity Committee of the Program for Writing and Rhetoric in collaboration with the Digital Composition and the Creative Nonfiction Committees.

The Program for Writing and Rhetoric is a freestanding unit in the College of Arts and Sciences at the CU-Boulder and is responsible for campus-wide instruction in expository writing at the first-year and upper-division levels. Its small class sizes of 19 students provide intensive workshops and individualized instruction to help students to think critically about the texts they read and the writing they produce for both academic and professional audiences.
