Join Boulder-based vocalist Janine Gastineau & her friends The Shy Birds (aka Daniel Ondaro & Petros Tzekos) performing bossa nova & samba with blended vocals, nylon-string guitar & myriad percussion instruments, this THURSDAY APRIL 2 from 7-10 pm at Caffe Sole in South Boulder. The Shy Birds, currently on a 2-month tour (New York City, DC, VA, FL, New Orleans, & San Francisco) swing thru Boulder for a swinging night of vibrant bossa nova, samba, & MPB (Música Popular Brasileira). The Shy Birds, known acrros Berlin & northern Germany, also recently toured Switzerland, Prague, Istanbul and Athens. They're joined this evening by Janine Gastineau, a vocalist specializing in Brazilian samba (among other world music styles) for three hours of intimate, compelling, poetic songs by Tom Jobim & Vinicius Moraes, Joao Bosco, Luis Bonfa, Martinho da Vila, Baden Powell, Gilberto Gil, & Ondaro's original, celebrated sambas.
