Please join us for our first “Make a Tile” Day at Boulder County Aids Project
We will have all of the supplies you need (tiles, paint, brushes) to create a tile, just bring your ideas and creativity! $18 per tile, includes glazing and firing by Color Me Mine. RSVP required.
Since its incorporation in 1985 the Boulder County AIDS Project has been inviting friends and family members of clients that have died from AIDS to create a tile in remembrance and in honor of their loved one. Much like the Names Project, the AIDS memorial quilt that still travels the country, this tile wall represents the beautiful and amazing lives that were cut short by this devastating virus. In recognition of BCAP’s 30th anniversary, BCAP is inviting members of the community, far and wide, to create a remembrance tile(s) for a loved one who has passed from AIDS and to add it to our “Fill the Wall with Love and Remembrance” tile project.
Beginning on March 20, 2015 and ending on December 1, 2015, World AIDS Day, with the “unveiling” of the wall, this project will celebrate lives, acknowledge pain, and honor those we have lost and are still losing. We encourage participants to tell their loved one’s story, share their lives and let their memories live on.
How to participate:
- Paint a 6” by 6” ceramic tile on your own or with a group of friends or family members and deliver to BCAP. We are proudly partnering with Color Me Mine, a paint-your-own pottery studio, where tiles, paint and the firing of your final piece will be provided for $18.00.

- Come to one of three “Make a Tile” days that BCAP will host in our offices. We will have all of the materials that you need and the cost will be $18.00. RSVP’s required to make sure we have enough supplies.
- The first “Make a Tile” day is scheduled for Saturday, May 2nd from 10:00 am -2:00 pm. Future dates to be announced.

- We are happy to set up a private Make a Tile day for groups of 5-10 that would like to use BCAP’s space to create tiles. Please contact David for details.
- For those of you who live out of town or out of state- please paint a 6” by 6” ceramic tile using acrylic or enamel paint, have the piece glazed and fired, and send to BCAP. Please make sure to securely package your tile for safe shipping.
