Frequent Flyers® Productions Advanced Aerial Teacher (independent contractor, as needed)

Frequent Flyers® Productions (FFP) is a Boulder, Colorado, non-profit aerial dance company seeking Advanced Aerial Teachers.

We are seeking contractors who are highly skilled in teaching some, but not necessarily all, of the following apparatus: Low Flying Trapeze, Static Trapeze, Lyra, Fabric, Rope, Stilts, Handstands, AcroBalance, Aerial Partnering, Rope and Harness, Bungee, Sling or Straps.

Position is approximately 6-20 hours per week, depending on experience and availability in relation to existing studio schedule. Contract rate is DOE and ranges $15-50/hr., depending on teaching assignment. Hours based on the studio schedule, and will include evening and/or weekend hours.

Teachers report as independent contractors to the Education Program Manager and work in coordination with other teachers. Our aerial dance education program is multi-faceted and requires teachers with a variety of skills and interests.

Possible assignments for teachers will be some combination of the following: Kids Classes § Community kids classes offered in the weekday afternoons and Saturday mornings. § Kids Who Fly classes – offered on and offsite to youth at risk, some recurring with regular schedules, and some scheduled on an ad hoc basis. § Summer camps – week long camps 9-3pm Adult Community Classes and Private Lessons - Aerial Technique and Aerial Dance classes with any of the following apparatus: § Low Flying Trapeze, Static Trapeze, Lyra (Hoop), Fabric, Rope (Cord de Lisse), Sling, Stilts, Aerial Partnering (both vertical or horizontal), Rope and Harness, Bungee, Straps Ground Classes § Ballet, Modern, Jazz § Pilates, Barre Student Company § Semester long contract with a team of teachers § Creating a group environment for each age group § Creating and setting choreography § Producing a student show: choreography, rigging, costumes, music, publicity, production Professional Training Program § 9 month long contract with a team of teachers § Creating a group environment for highly skilled young adults § Fostering healthy training practices and encouraging development of individual artistic expression § Guiding students to produce a culminating show of students individual work

Minimum Qualifications: • Advanced Aerial Teacher needs to be a “people person” who enjoys interacting with a wide variety of people. • Highly trained in aerial arts. • Resourceful, organized, and flexible enough to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities. • Excellent spoken and written communication skills. • Good Customer-Service Orientation • Aerial Teaching Certificate from an accredited school and/or a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar position or environment. Teachers will receive orientation, as necessary, in Frequent Flyers teaching methods. 2 • Physical health and mobility, including an ability to lift and carry up to 150 lbs., as well as a valid drivers license and vehicle. • Ability to work independently when necessary, while also contributing to the team. • First Aid and CPR Certified.
