The See & Respond Art Show and Art on the Street Meet the Artists Reception, featuring the Art on the Street Sculptures and the works they inspired, will be held in Lafayette Public Library June 5, 6:00 – 9 pm.  Prizes will be awarded in multiple categories and the winner of the Art on the Street, Jean Mellblom People’s Choice Award will be announced.

Sixteen Art on the Street sculptures were installed along Public Road in March and April.  Artists and Poets wishing to enter See & Respond may visit the sculptures in person or view them on the City of Lafayette website, www.cityoflafayette.com/aots. The artists whose work is installed on Public Rd are: Victoria Ross Patti, Dale Montagne, Gary Monaco, Jim Choate, Maureen Hearty, Kimmerjae Johnson, J Morely, Scott Mohr, Diane Mason, Mary Zimmerman, Bill Vielehr, Kristie Letter, Patty Kelly, Reven Swanson, Jade Windell, and Jimmy Descant.  This program provides the community with a full access interactive art experience year round.

More information on the See & Respond Art Show is available at www.cityoflafayette.com/seeandrespond . This program is not limited to local artists.  Artists are asked to respond to current Art on the Street Sculptures. This is the third year of the See & Respond Art Show.

Lafayette has vibrant art community, and a strong citywide arts program.  Don’t miss the chance to be part of the art that Lafayette has to offer.  Local artists, as well as artists from other regions are encouraged to apply for these opportunities to display work in a unique and eclectic art environment where community members are appreciative and encouraging and tourists and visitors come for a special opportunity to share in Lafayette’s art scene.
