June 27 - July 25, 2015

The scene for this “side-splitting comedy is a fishing lodge in rural Georgia often visited by "Froggy" LeSeuer who has brought along a friend, a pathologically shy man named Charlie. Charlie gets overcome with fear at the mere thought of having to make conversation with strangers. So "Froggy," before departing, tells all assembled that Charlie is from an exotic foreign country and can’t speak or understand English. It isn’t long before Charlie’s guileless persona backfires and, like a fly on the wall, he overhears more than he should and understands perfectly the trouble he could be in!

Celebrating his 100th production, Bernie Cardell has been cast as Charlie Baker. Mari Geasair plays Betty Meeks and Andy Anderson "Froggy" LeSeur along with Adrian Egolf as Catherine Simms and Luke Sorge as David Marshall Lee. Rounding out the cast is Luke Terry as Ellard Simms and Leroy Leonard as Owen Musser.

Larry Shue, a promising young middle-aged actor and playwright, had his career cut short at the age of 39 by the crash of a commuter plane. He left behind a small published body of plays, including two crowd-pleasing comedies, The Nerd and The Foreigner which have become staples of theatre companies everywhere. His acting credits include stage (New York and regional), television, and film appearances. He won two Obies and two New York Drama Critics Awards.
