Gary Vigen Uses hand formed glass with rich and varied color and texture. Inspired by the unique characteristic of line and form in a piece of glass, Vigen allows a landscape to emerge. Using the ancient technique of enameling layers of powdered pigments onto the glass with high temperatures, he enhances the landscapes. He discovers the landscapes in the randomness of the textures and brings them into being with composition and care.

Terry Crook kiln-fires her elegant decorative pottery forms in saggars. A saggar is a clay “jar” that contains pots during firing. Traditionally saggars were used to protect pottery. In contemporary studios, however, the saggar creates a mini-environment where burning materials form interesting line and color. Crook uses copper wire, wood shavings, copper carbonate, copper sulphate, salt, steel wool, and seaweed to create complex organic designs on her burnished pottery. The result is a compliment of spontaneity and deliberateness that hints of landscape and the natural world.
