After twenty years of un-wedded bliss Georges and Albin, two men partnered for better-or-worse get a bit of both when Georges' son (fathered during a one-night fling) announces his impending marriage to the daughter of a bigoted, right-wing politician. Further complicating the situation is the 'family business': Albin and Georges run a drag nightclub in St. Tropez, where Albin is the "star" performer 'Zaza'. Georges reluctantly agrees to masquerade as "normal" when he meets the family of the bride-to-be. But Albin has other plans, with hilarious results.

The cast, under the direction of Bernie Cardell, includes Jim Hitzke (Georges), John White (Albin "Zaza"), Darren Koehler (Jean-Michel)), Randy Chalmers (Jacob), Valerie Igoe (Anne Dindon), Andy Anderson (M. Dindon), Erin Trampler Bell (Mme.  Dindon), Shahara Ray (Jacquiline), Brian Trampler (M. Renaud), Becky Trampler (Mme Renaud) and Thairone Vigil-Medina (Francis). Les Cagelles are Preston Britton, Peter Dearth, Carlos Jimenez, Christian Munck, Jeffrey E. Parizotto and Eric Pung.

Choreographer Matthew D. Peters is a Henry Award nominee for his work on the currently running production of "Mary Poppins" at BDT Stage.

The original 1983 Broadway production received nine nominations for Tony Awards and won six, including Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book. The 2004 Broadway revival won the Tony Award for Best Revival; the 2008 London revival garnered the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Musical Revival. The 2010 Broadway revival was nominated for eleven Tony Awards, winning the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical. "La Cage aux Folles" is the first musical which has won the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical twice and the show that has won a Best Production Tony Award (Best Musical or Best Revival of a Musical) for each of its Broadway productions.
