Deirdre of the Sorrows by John Millington Synge

Boulder's Upstart Crow Theatre Company presents Deirdre of the Sorrows for 8 performances at the Dairy Center for the Arts. The ancient legend of Deirdre, the Celtic Helen of Troy, hails from ancient Ireland & Scotland. Based on Irish mythology, and written in 1909, Deirdre of the Sorrows tells the story of a Druid prophecy foreseeing that the beautiful, young Deirdre would cause a war between the sons of Usna and Conor, the King of Ulster, and bring about the destruction of the city of Emain by falling in love with Naisi, Conor's nephew.
