Denver Art Museum's 2016 Plaza Installation Description:

Martin Plaza will be transformed into a whimsical movement experience where passersby and visitors can interact with an immersive ribbon installation designed by Demiurge. Free dance performances will be offered on the plaza throughout the summer.

Call for Dancers:

Seeking up to 5 dancers to collaborate on a 10 minute contemporary dance piece for showing at the Denver Art Museum's free Plaza Installation dance series on July 2 2016.

Auditions running from April 6 through May 7 2016. Please e-mail the below e-mail address to set up an audition.

About Piece:

The piece will be 10 minutes in length. The genre is contemporary dance; multiple backgrounds, genres and influences are welcome. The piece has two parts. The theme of the piece is contrast and transformation.

Dancer Requirements:

Training in contemporary dance, specifically contemporary technique. 
Training in modern, ballet, jazz and hip hop also welcome.
At least 2 years of intermediate to advanced dance training.
Experience collaborating, creating original work and choreographing preferred.

Work Requirements:

Be a part of choreographic process. Collaborate and design the piece with a small ensemble of 4-5 professional dancers. 

Attend rehearsals once per week, for 2-3 hours from May 14 - July 2. Dates/times are flexible and TBD. 
Attend tech and dress rehearsals for up to four days the weeks of June 19-July 2.
Rehearsals will take place at an accessible local studio in Boulder, CO.

Compensation:

$40-65
Professional Photography of your dancing to add to your portfolio
Professional experience of exhibiting original work at the Denver Art Museum
