One Action 2016: Arts + Immigration Project Director Position Mission: The mission of Motus Theater is to create inclusive and cohesive community by using

original theater to facilitate dialogue on critical issues of our time. Hours; Pay: 32/week at $20 an hr. and will be on a contract

Purpose of Position: One Action 2016: Arts + Immigration Project, a project of Motus Theater, is an arts-based, countywide project designed to foster conversation on historic and contemporary issues of immigration. The project is a collaboration among cultural arts, immigrant serving and educational organizations and runs from January to November 2016. Some wrap-up work, such as evaluation and report writing will continue into 2017.

Project Director oversees a Steering Committee that coordinates the year-long series of mutually reinforcing activities to engage Boulder County in active community conversation on immigration. The One Action 2016 participant organizations are cross-sector and include businesses, schools, faith-based organizations, arts and cultural groups, civic groups, and non- profits. The One Action Project Director leads, manages and coordinates Motus Theater’s One Action 2016: Arts + Immigration Project.

Working Environment: Candidate must have ability to work from home. Some travel throughout Boulder County for meetings and events is necessary.

Job Responsibilities:

Marketing 50%

  •   Update website (WordPress) with current events as they are submitted.

  •   Coordinate and update social media to promote events by participating partners.

  •   Draft monthly e-newsletter summarizing last month’s events and highlighting upcoming

    month’s events.

  •   Coordinate with graphic designer to create and submit monthly ad for the Daily Camera

    and seasonal printed calendar.

  •   Communicate with media on purpose of project.

    Administration 30%

  •   Communicate with partners by email and/or phone calls to collect information on upcoming projects and evaluation information.

  •   Write and submit grant proposals and grant reports

  •   Design and conduct project evaluation

  •   Provide project updates to One Action 2016 Steering Committee and Motus Theater

Community Organizing 20%

  •   Maintains and develops alliances between arts & civic organizations and immigration groups to foster collaborative events.

  •   Coordinates Steering Committee meetings

    Required Qualifications:

  •   Ability to form and build relationships and partnerships with community members

  •   Familiarity and culturally competency on issues of immigration

  •   Knowledge of communities impacted by current immigration policy

  •   Ability to manage competing priorities

  •   Strong working knowledge of WordPress to update website and light troubleshooting

  •   Strong working knowledge of use of social media (Facebook and Twitter) to promote

    events.

  •   Ability to to write strong proposals, reports and Press Releases in English.

  •   Knowledge and ability to create a cohesive logic model and evaluation structure

    Preferred Qualifications:

  •   Knowledge and familiarity with Boulder and Boulder County arts and civic organizations

  •   Knowledge and familiarity with Boulder and Boulder County businesses, schools, faith

    based organization and nonprofits

  •   Knowledge and familiarity with local newspapers and radio stations.

  •   Ability to remain flexible and nimble

  •   Bilingual-Spanish
