A week long celebration of the music and life of Gustav Mahler featuring films, a master class, a free chamber concert and two orchestral performances (5/21 and 5/22) by Maestro Kenneth Woods and the Colorado MahlerFest Orchestra. This year we are presenting the US premiere of Kurt Schwertsik's Nachtmusiken Op. 104 and Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 7. On 5/16 - Film - Love, Death and Beyond - Exploring Mahler's Resurrection Symphony. On 5/18 - Chamber/Vocal Recital. On 5/19 - Conducting Master Class featuring Mahler's 4th Symphony (chamber version). On 5/20 - Film - The US premiere of the ballet "7" set to Mahler's 7th Symphony. On 5/21 at 9:00 in Imig C-199 - a full day symposium.
