A group mixed-media art exhibit featuring Boulder County artists Judy Hayes-Ellison, Jane Glotzer, Maribeth Hite, Joan Jordan, and Cyrina Rinkel.  In the hands of these long-time artists, found and cast-off items are translated into metaphors that enrich our understanding of modern femininity.

An intimacy natural to the feminine is revealed through “traditional” female handwork such as quilting and beading, yet obvious, too, through less traditional mediums such as mosaic and mixed media assemblage. The artists’ profound appreciation of the natural world and beauty for its own sake are unifying themes in their art. Whether their tool is needle or power drill, a connection to women’s handwork throughout history is joyfully revealed, with a decidedly 21st century cadence.
