The Candlelight Dinner Playhouse is proud to present the Royal Shakespeare Company version of "The Wizard of Oz" by Frank Baum with book adaptation by John Kane and with music and lyrics by Harold Arlen and E.Y. Harburg. This adaptation follows the famous MGM musical the closest of any stage adaptation. This production is the last show of Candlelight’s award-winning Season 8.
Like so many girls her age, little Dorothy Gale of Kansas dreams of what lies over the rainbow. One day a twister hits her farm and carries her away over the rainbow to another world. Come join Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tinman, the Cowardly Lion and Toto as they travel the universe of Dorothy’s imagination. The worlds’ most beloved film musical comes to vibrant life on the Candlelight stage with all your favorite characters and songs in glorious real-life Technicolor.
Christy Oberndorf makes her Candlelight debut as Dorothy Gale. The cast includes Stephen Bertles as Tinman, Markus Warren as Cowardly Lion, Deylan Dean as the Scarecrow and Annie Dwyer as the Wicked Witch of the West. Patrick Sawyer returns as The Wizard of Oz as does David Wygant as Uncle Henry.
