This October, Seicento Baroque Ensemble presents Colonial Latin America and the New World. This powerful concert features European-style polyphony brought to the New World, and the very rhythmic, lively music of the newly converted Christian American Indians, written by native Aztec and Nahua composers of the 16th-17th centuries including Aztec drumming and primitive wind instruments, and sung in dialects of indigenous Maya, Incas, Aztecs and others.

Seicento presents Colonial Latin America and the New World in Denver Friday, October 21, in Boulder Saturday, October 22, and in Longmont Sunday, October 23. Details and tickets are at SeicentoBaroque.org.
