Fiction Workshop: One Story in One Sitting

Unlock the mysteries of the short story in this 1-day intensive, and learn the narrative techniques that enable you to write a complete short story in a single sitting. 

How does a short story work? Once I have a beginning, how will I find an end? We'll answer these questions and more as we discover why and how we can all write a short story in one sitting. 

Beginning with a guided close reading of a short story and several flash fictions, we'll note the narrative ingredients at their beginnings that determine their ends. Following that, writers will apply what they've learned through a creative writing exercise that generates an original short story of their own.
