In a divided and confusing time, we offer a concert about listening and speaking, empathy and engagement, truth and beauty, life and death, searching and soul.

Many of us would say the past months have been among the weirdest and worst times of our lives. In a time when it has been hard to know what to think or what to do, when we have been moving through our days suffused with anger, despair, fear, and disbelief—when it’s been hard sometimes to feel that art matters—we’ve found that coming together in the community of weekly rehearsals has been a welcome touchstone. In this concert, we invite our audience to share in that warmth and presence with us. We offer this concert as citizen-musicians, engaging with the needs, dreams, and desires that underlie the challenges of the moment. This is a concert in service of resilience.

The program includes music by Morten Lauridsen, Joan Szymko, Abbie Betinis, Boulder composer Selena Wellington, Craig Carnelia, and more, with settings of poetry by Rabindranath Tagore, Audre Lorde, James Agee, and others.

Resonance Women’s Chorus is a 125-voice women's community chorus directed by Sue Coffee and based in Boulder, Colorado. We sing contemporary choral music with messages of social awareness.
