You can be a beginner or experienced artist to enjoy this class!
Spring is the perfect time to appreciate and draw butterflies. Each kind of butterfly has their own unique design. We will used “pen and ink” pens to define the wing designs. Then we will add color using the unique watercolor pencils. They are easy to control but give the look of watercolors. You will get different tips for blending the watercolor pencils for a beautiful result. The teacher will provide photo references of butterflies or you can use your own. This is a fun way to bring in spring!
Materials: Bring a 9”x12” watercolor pad for paper or a watercolor “block”. Also, you need a set of 12 watercolor pencils and a small watercolor brush with a point. These are available at local stores such as Michael’s, or Hobby Lobby or at Dick Blick Art catalog & online. Have a pencil, eraser, sharpener, and a skinny permanent black pen such as a thin Sharpie or a Micron 002 (or set of these).
