Encaustic - Using Photos Class

Photos are transformed in unusual ways with encaustic. Part of the fun is seeing how the image reacts with the medium. The photo may take on an ethereal quality or suddenly look vintage. It might be sharply defined or look like it’s been distressed. Adding more layers and extra colors of medium to the image offers design options not possible with other techniques. To learn this unique way of preserving treasured photos, join Alix in her studio for a fun day of exploration. This class is for both new and experienced students. Alix will cover basic information at the beginning of the class, and then will demonstrate the specific techniques. Experienced students can move right ahead at their own pace while Alix helps newer students get started.
