Application Process
To apply for the 2020 Pathways To Jazz recording grant, musicians will need to submit a Letter of Intent for consideration (see link below). Musicians who have never been funded directly or indirectly by Pathways To Jazz will be considered first. Historically, grants have ranged from $1,000-$5,000; however, funding amounts will not be determined until applications are reviewed.

Letters of intent will be accepted between April 6-24, 2020 and the first 40 submissions will be considered. You will be asked to describe your project and participants, your experience and to provide a breakdown of your budget. Please be sure to include your website. Up to 20 applicants will be selected to apply and they will be notified and receive instructions by May 30. Please do not make inquiries of status prior to this date.

Selected applicants will complete the grant application through the Boulder County Arts Alliance website beginning June 1. Music samples will be requested at this time. The deadline to apply is 5pm on June 30, 2020; no applications will be accepted after this date.

Determinations will be made in July, and the applicant will be notified within the first three weeks of August. Those awarded a grant, will have until Dec. 31, 2021 to complete their project. A final report will also be due by this date.

Expectation

If you are awarded the grant, the expectation is that you will create a physical CD. Anything outside of those parameters can be proposed to Pathways To Jazz by the artist, and will be evaluated on a case- by-case basis.
