Description
Saturday December 12. 10:00am-1:00pm

In this 3-hour workshop, we will investigate the principles of drawing the head, the neck and perhaps the most daunting of all: the face. We’ll take a close look at the form and structures of the skull and neck muscles. We will observe how the head and neck relate to the rest of the body through their extension from the spine and shoulders, and you will learn how to express their mechanics and system of movement. Additionally, in this workshop, you will learn the geometric and proportional principles in drawing the human face. We will look at how to suggest a simplistic face on quicker poses as well as confidently capturing detailed faces in more resolved drawings. Workshops include one hour of instruction plus two hours of instruction while drawing from a live model.

All Drawing Room workshops and classes are held indoors and social-distancing protocols are strictly enforced. Artists are required to wear masks at all times and class size is limited to 4 artists and 1 model. Due to limited space availability, artists must pre-register for all sessions and drop-ins cannot be accommodated.

A minimum of 2 artist participants is required for this workshop to be held.
