Exciting opportunity to join the NoBo Art District Board of Directors!

NoBo Art District is excited to announce we are looking for people with a passion for the Boulder Arts community to serve on our Board of Directors. We have spots opening in 2023. Applicants will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

About Us

The NoBo Art District is an inclusive, grass-roots, community-based organization whose Mission is to:

Elevate the arts in Boulder, continue the artistic and economic development of North Boulder, and support and enhance the local community. We achieve these goals by:

• Providing opportunities for artists to enrich and advance their careers.
• Continuing to build the NoBo Art District as an artistic and business destination.
• Providing the community with events, educational opportunities, and creative outlets.

Our signature event, NoBo First Friday Artwalk takes place in many locations around North Boulder and beyond. The NoBo Art District supports all forms of creative expressions and the collective effort to connect with and build community.

Who We Are Looking For:
This call is open to all people and we hope to grow our board of directors to include people from diverse identities and backgrounds including, race, sexual orientation, gender identity, socioeconomic class, age and experience. No previous board experience is required.

We are looking for people with experience, skills and resources that can contribute to our mission. Some areas of expertise that we have specifically identified as in need are:

• Marketing, Social Media
• Strategic Development
• Equity, Diversity, Inclusion
• Grant Writing, Editing

Commitment:

To be a Board member with the NoBo Art District, we ask that you commit to:

• Our vision, mission, and values
• Maintain a creative practice
• Maintain a current paying membership of the NoBo Art District
• Attend and participate in monthly board meetings (2-4 hours per month) for a 2-year term
• Share your expertise and leverage your networks and resources.
• Lead the organization and ensure diligent governance

Process:

We are currently accepting applications! The application can be found HERE and takes 15 minutes to complete.

The call for applications is intended to be open until positions are filled. We will close it once we have a significant pool of candidates who have expressed interest.

The NoBo Art District Board of Directors will do an initial review of applications. Top candidates will be contacted for a phone interview/discussion with a Board member. Selected candidates will then have phone conversations with the President and potentially other Board members and will be invited to attend a Board meeting to see how we work and confirm the fit before joining the Board.
