The City of Brighton invites artists to embark on an exciting endeavor—transforming traffic signal boxes into captivating public art installations across the community! Traffic Box Murals turn ordinary spaces into creative landmarks, and remain installed for at least two years.
Compensation: All selected artists and artist teams will recieve an honorarium of $500.
Elligiblity: All artists must be based in Colorado, and are welcome to apply with any medium (watercolor, photography, multi-media, acrylic, etc.). Individual artists as well as artist teams are elligible.
Submissions will be accepted for young artists (17 and younger) and adult artists (18 and older). At least one traffic box will be awarded to the youth category.
Deadline: Submissions are due on April 5, 2026. Finalists will be notified on May 4, 2026, and installation will take place in June 2026.
The City will handle the printing and installation of all Traffic Box Murals.
For more information and to apply, please visit the Brighton Traffic Box Murals website. We are so excited to see your submissions!
